Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the death of the Bulgarian officer and activist of the Supreme Macedonian-Adrianopolitan Committee (SMAC) Captain Yordan Stoyanov, as well as to several anniversaries of important events in which he took an active part. Extreme and contradictory opinions have been left about him in Bulgarian historiography and especially in memoirs, which is largely due to the internal controversies in the Macedonian-Adrianopolitan liberation movement. Outlived just 42 years of age, capt. Stoyanov has remained in the history of the Macedonian-Adrianopolitan revolutionary struggles as a representative of those worthy Bulgarian officers, who sacrificed their official career and family wellbeing in the name of the Bulgarian national cause and the unification of Bulgaria.
