The Activity of the Ministry of War for the Location and Protection of Military Monuments and Graves in Macedonia Between the Two World Wars

The present paper aims to introduce the public to the Ministry of War’s efforts to locate, set up and maintain Bulgarian military monuments, cemeteries and individual graves in the period between World War I and World War II, and offers an outline of the results thus achieved. This research is based on archives and documents supplied and preserved by the Central Military Historical Archive – Veliko Tarnovo. In the presented material, while talking about Macedonia, the authors do not point deal with the historically geographical region of Macedonia, but that part of it which remained under the authority of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croatians and Slovenians (Yugoslavian Kingdom, as of October 1929).
