IMPACT OF THE NEUILLY TREATY ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION OF BULGARIA AFTER THE GREAT WAR

(Abstract)
The article deals with the basic economic and social issues of the postwar development of the Kingdom of Bulgaria. The decisions taken at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference, which were annexed to the Treaty of Neuilly, undoubtedly caused a number of damages to the Bulgarian economy.
These damages are related to key moments of financial and monetary and social nature, including the devaluation of the Bulgarian lev; inflation; financial isolation; the maintenance of foreign commissions; some abuses of the occupation parts of the Entente in the country; the refugee issue and others.
The article also draws attention to the policy of the ruling authorities in Sofia, trying to overcome the international isolation and thus to help the economic recovery and stabilization of the Bulgarian society.
