The thousands of decorations and honours awarded to the soldiers of the Bulgarian army, and in this number – the hundreds given to the 26th Pernik regiment of the First Wolrd War – testify to the willingness of the Bulgarians to complete the national unification of their fatherland within the ethnical borders of the Bulgarian people.
Even today, these awards continue to remind of the selflessness of the Bulgarian soldiers, their valour and heroism, and the dignified fulfilment of their duty to the fatherland.
