The article examines an episode from the life of the newly elected
Metropolitan of Nevrokop Boris. The incident, relayed in a later
letter by Archimandrite Methodius in his position as an eyewitness, is
insignificant at first glance, but in fact represents Boris’s first meeting
with his future physical killer.
The letter is probably the earliest
evidence containing a proposal for the canonization of the Bulgarian
metropolitan killed during the first years of the communist regime.
