ALEKSANDĂR BALABANOV ON THE ISLE OF THE BLESSED

(Summary)
The article has as its scientific object the ideas of Pencho Slaveykov in
the construction of the Bulgarian literary canon. They are characteristic
of the entire anthology “On the Island of the Blessed”. This time the
great Bulgarian scholar, poet and publicist Prof. A. Balabanov. It is
interesting for Slaveykov because of the traces that Balabanov’s
classical education has left on his talent as a poet. The scholar and the
poet are two roles that, in their own way, different from the program of
“Misăl” (“Thought”), modernize Bulgarian literature.
