The topic under discussion is an attempt at an evaluation of the socio-cultural exchange that runs on daily basis through social networks. It also aims to justify the need for the MSI to exit the closed elite circle of its strictly scientific public and to be directed towards an active and wholesome communication with a broad circle of virtual users, with the help of various electronic cultural and academic products that provoke user activity through shared events, academic works, and photos that send correct and clear messages.
The survey of the attitudes and preferences of the mass Facebook user confirms the growing responsibility of memory institutions. The everyday forgery of documents, photos, popular science texts, seen and distorted through the prism of convenient causes and theses, that violate rudely historicity and professionalism, becomes instantly available to an impressive multitude of electronic users. The role and responsibility of a scientific organization is to interrupt this play with history.
Such is the responsibility of education, of standing up for the truth without reshaping stories, traditions, customs, holidays, and along with that – the responsibility to reconstruct the forgotten memory of the cultural-historical significance of Macedonia. The potential of contemporary social networks is growing at lightning speed and must be mastered in the proper direction by creating successful strategies that make use of the various roles of the Internet, which can fulfill most thoroughly the online communication with users, inform the public and initiate greater socio-cultural functions.
