KUBER’S BULGARS AND THEIR DESCENDANTS AFTER 718

(Abstract) 

Тhe present work aims to shed light on the “dark” era for Kuber’s Bulgars after 718, based on written and archaeological data. The article examines the annexation of the historical and geographical area of Macedonia to Pliska Bulgaria, the Bulgarian governors in the southwestern lands in the second half of the 9th – the beginning of the 10th century, the Bulgarian ethnic presence near Thessaloniki during the Early Middle Ages, the archaeological finds in the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia and the present-day Albania, which are associated with the Bulgars, etc. The structure of Kuber's political formation is also presented.
