PUBLISHING PRACTICES OF THE MACEDONIAN SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTE THROUGHOUT TWO ERAS (1923–1944, 1990–UNTIL TODAY)
Nikolai Poppetrov
(Summary)
Although the Macedonian Scientific Institute has other pursuits,
its publishing activity is the one that mainly and most permanently
characterizes its place in Bulgarian society. It has been developing in
two directions: the journal ‘Macedonian Review’ and publishing of
individual books.
The publishing activity of the Institute takes place
in two distinct historical periods, each with its particular historical
characteristics, which in turn has left an imprint on the particularities
of the events under consideration. The proposed exposition does
not claim to be a complete bibliographic overview, but pinpoints
individual important highlights of this activity, which in the variety
of publications – in’ ‘Macedonian Review’ or independent ones, are
often overlooked or neglected.
Keywords: Macedonian Scientific Institute, Macedonian question,
