It is not the facts of the life of a bright person that matter most for the successive generations. The decisions in hard times, the attitude to others, and the public views are those parts of human life that outlive the person and leave a mark.
Prof. Dimitar Silyanovski can serve as an example in many respects. The present paper aims at summarizing some of the conclusions about contemporaneity that can be reached by any self-conscious Bulgarian who turns their view to the human Dimitar Silyanovski.
