Problems and Prospects for the European Integration of the Western Balkans

This article clarifies the phenomenon of integrative non-alternative. 

The focus is on the process of accession of the countries of the Western Balkans to the European Union. The conflict zones between them are revealed as well as the urgent need for an alternative approach in the process of their integration into the EU and NATO. 

At the end of the article the author also points out what the policy of Bulgaria in the region should be.
